Why Sleep Is So Important?

I believe we all know that when we sleep well, we feel good.  We can face the day with energy and enthusiasm that is not there when we are sleep deprived BUT getting 7-9 hours of quality sleep every night is also really important for many other aspects of our health.

It helps with:

  1. Improved Mood: Good sleep has a direct impact on our mood and emotional well-being. After a good night’s sleep, we tend to feel more energised and positive.

  2. Better Memory and Concentration: Adequate sleep helps our brain consolidate memories and improves our ability to focus and concentrate.

  3. Better Weight Management: Good sleep is associated with better weight management and a lower risk of obesity.

  4. Better Skin Health: Sleep is important for skin health and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles.

What happens with lack of Sleep?

  1. Increased Stress: Lack of sleep increases levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which can have negative effects on our health and well-being.

  2. Decreased Alertness: Lack of sleep can impair our ability to stay awake, focused, and alert throughout the day.

  3. Weakened Immune System: Chronic sleep deprivation can weaken our immune system, making us more susceptible to infections and illnesses.

  4. Reduced Productivity: Lack of sleep can impair our ability to perform daily tasks and make decisions, reducing our overall productivity and efficiency.

Kind Words From Our Clients

5/5
I found the coaching process really empowering. I sorta knew all of the things I should be doing but having someone to help you reflect and look at bit more deeply into what was working and not working has given me the confidence to know how to sleep more deeply - for longer and know how to work out what to do when I am not sleeping well
